Levamisol is active on adult Ascaris stages and on larval and adult stages of pulmonary parasites.

Pharmacokinetic particularities :

After oral administration, levamisol is rapidly absorbed, with high plasma concentrations being reached after 1-2 hours.

Levamisol is distributed throughout the body and is converted into the liver into less active metabolites.

Within the first 12 hours after administration, levamisole is excreted approx. 40% via urine and then for the first 8 days approx. 40% is excreted via faeces.
