Indications for use

Genta-ject 10% is indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections caused by Gram-negative germs (E. coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp. and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and in bacterial infections caused by Gram-positive germs (beta-hemolytic streptococci).

  • Dosage

    Administer parenterally.
    Cattle and pigs: 0.4 – 1.0 ml per 10 kg body weight, intramuscularly, slowly intravenously or subcutaneously, for 3 – 5 days.


  • Contraindications

    Gentamicin should be used with caution in animals with renal dysfunction.
    Caution is recommended in administration after prolonged therapy with other similar toxic components or with other aminoglycosides.
    It should not be administered to animals with hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides.
    Therapy should be discontinued if signs of auditory or vestibular disorders or in case of depression appear.
    Increased serum creatinine levels, polyuria, the presence of proteins or cells in the urine may indicate nephrotoxicity. In these cases, the use of aminoglycosides should be discontinued.

  • Controindicazioni

    La gentamicina deve essere usata con cautela negli animali con disfunzione renale.
    Si raccomanda cautela nella somministrazione dopo una terapia prolungata con altri componenti tossici simili o con altri aminoglicosidi.
    Non somministrare ad animali con ipersensibilità agli aminoglicosidi.
    La terapia deve essere interrotta se compaiono segni di disturbi uditivi o vestibolari oppure in caso di depressione.
    Livelli elevati di creatinina sierica, poliuria, presenza di proteine ​​o cellule nelle urine possono indicare nefrotossicità. In questi casi l'uso degli aminoglicosidi verrà interrotto.
