BIMECTIN PLUS - for cattle / vermifugo per bovini / equivalente Ivomec plus
Pet Shop Luna SRL
NAME OF THE VETERINARY MEDICINAL PRODUCT
BIMECTIN PLUS 50 ml / 250 ML / 500 ML. - Injectible solution.
COMPOSITION
- 1 ml of injectable solution contains 10 mg of ivermectin and 100 mg of clorsulon.
THERAPEUTIC ACTION
Vermectin acts on the nervous system of parasites (nematodes, mites, arthropods). Initially it paralyzes them, then kills them. Clorsulon acts on the enzymes involved in the energy production of the yellow worm. The use of the product for therapeutic purposes does not have a similar effect on the equivalent systems in cattle. Used in the recommended doses, the product has no side effects on the reproductive function of animals intended for reproduction.
INDICATIONS
For the treatment of mixed infestations with adult parasites (jaundice, intestinal roundworms, lungworms, eyeworms and/or infections with Hypoderma, mites or lice) in ruminants. The product is a broad-spectrum endo and ectoparasiticide. A single administered dose is effective against most parasites in ruminants. The product is easy to use.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
This product should not be administered intramuscularly or intravenously.
SECONDARY EFFECTS
Following subcutaneous administration in some cattle, transient local inflammatory disorders were observed at the injection site. These reactions disappeared without the need for treatment.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
A single dose of 1 ml/50 kg of live weight is administered (200 μg of ivermectin and 2 mg of clorsulon/kg of live weight).
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
The product is administered by subcutaneous injections in the front or back of the shoulder (back). Doses that exceed 10 ml must be divided and injected in separate areas. It is recommended that the injection be done in other places than those used for other parenteral treatments. It is recommended to use a sterile needle with a diameter of 15-20 mm. For mass administrations, the use of an automatic syringe is recommended. Establishing the treatment period must be based on the evaluation of epidemiological factors and must be adapted to the conditions existing in each farm. The dosage is established by qualified personnel. For a correct dosage, it is necessary to determine the body weight as accurately as possible. If a larger number of animals are treated, they can be divided by weight category and treated collectively, the dosage being done accordingly. When the temperature of the product is lower than 5ºC, difficulties may arise in its administration due to the increased viscosity. Heating the product and the injection device to approx. 15ºC can greatly increase the efficiency of the injection process.
OVERDOSAGE
A dose of 25 ml product/50 kg live weight (25 times the recommended dose) can cause injuries at the injection site (inflammation, edema, necrosis, fibrosis). No general reactions produced by drug overdose were observed.
