K9 Mantrailing Harness
K9 Mantrailing Harness
A dog harness suitable for recreational activities in which the dog is in charge. During the search, the dog searches for a particular person, tracking his unique smell.
In the case of canicross and other sports activities that involve running on the leash, the dog is also in front of its owner and can pull the one who owns the leash.
JULIUS-K9® harnesses for follow-up dogs and outdoor canycross have been specifically designed for the search for people and activities involving running.
The harness fits perfectly anatomically, provides optimal comfort for the dog even when exerting a significant pulling force.
During the design of the harness, attention was paid to ensuring that the load should be distributed only on the chest instead of the neck. The development of the mantrailing harness took place with the participation of the professors of the Mantrailing Academy of Budapest. After a 4-month testing period, the product was introduced at the INBTI seminar in spring 2017.
Application of harness: when the mantrailing harness is applied, the dog can be held between the legs: the dog is pointed forward and held between the knees. If the dog does not like this form of application, you can apply the harness standing next to it. If the dog is not disturbed that the harness is pulled over the head, it is enough to unlock only the two buckles of the rear element for application. Pull the strap that connects the neck element with the side of the chest over the head so that the neck and back elements are on the back of the dog and flatten the chest part. Finally, connect the two rear buckles to the rear.
Setting the mantraire cable / outdoor
The upper edge of the chest plate must reach the lower edge of the dog's neck - if it is larger, it can press the trachea. The straps leading to the neck element must be so tight that the upper edge of the chest plate is at the correct height and the front part is flattened on the chest. The distance between the neck and the back elements can be adjusted according to the taste of the dog's driver, but the back ring should not be behind the line of the dog's two hind legs. The back element must be slipped back to ensure that the back straps of the chest support do not obstruct the free movement of the front legs and do not cause bruising. The straps should be so tight that you can slide your palm under the back element. They should not be too loose, as they can move sideways during work. In a standing position, the harness may look too weak (bonding strap, neck element and back element may slip), but this is eliminated when the dog begins to move and pull. At that point, all straps and elements will be in place.
