Ronaxan 20 mg 20 tablets antibiotic based on doxycycline for dogs and cats.
Indications: In cats and small dogs in the treatment of acute and subacute conditions caused by germs sensitive to doxycycline and affecting in particular:
- the respiratory system (rhinitis, tonsillitis, bronchopneumonia, coryza);
- the skin (purulent dermatitis, abscesses);
- urinary tract (cystitis, prostatitis);
- genital tract (metritis).
- for the chronic forms of these conditions, prolonged treatments are generally effective
Unit composition:
- Doxycycline (in the form of hyclate) 20 mg
- Excipient qsp 500 mg
Dosage and method of administration:
- Route of administration: oral - RONAXAN 20 mg
- Dosage: 10 mg of active principle/kg of live weight/day or one tablet/10 kg of live weight in a single dose, daily, during meals, 3-5 days for acute and subacute forms and up to 10 days in chronic forms.
- It is administered orally.

Dosage :

- For cats and small dogs : 1 tablet of Ronaxan 20 mg per 2 kg of body weight daily.
- For large dogs : 1 tablet of Ronaxan 100 mg per 10 kg of body weight daily / 1 tablet of Ronaxan 250 mg per 25 kg of body weight daily.
Possible adverse effects :
- Adverse reactions such as vomiting, esophagitis and diarrhea have been reported in tetracycline therapy.
- The product should not be administered to animals with dysphagia or other diseases accompanied by vomiting.
- If you notice serious reactions or other unusual elements, please inform your veterinarian.
Precautions:
- Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
- The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established during pregnancy or lactation.
- Doxycycline should not be combined with other antibiotics, especially bactericidal drugs such as β-lactams.
- Concomitant administration of oral gastric dressings and antacids should be avoided as they reduce the availability of doxycycline.
Method of storage:
- Store away from moisture and direct sunlight, at temperatures up to 25°C.
In case of overdose:
- Vomiting may occur in dogs after administration of 5 times the recommended dose.
- In case of overdose, please contact your veterinarian immediately.
