COMPOSITION:
Sulfadimidine sodium 20 g per sachet.
PHARMACEUTICAL FORM:
Powder for oral administration.
PHARMACEUTICAL PROPERTIES:
Sulfadimidines have the following effects: Bacteriostatic effect on Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria (Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp., E. coli, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Mycoplasma spp.). The functional group of sulfonamides has a competitive inhibition effect of p-aminobenzoic acid, which is a growth factor of microorganisms. Against coccidia (E. necatrix, E. tenella, E. brunetti, E. maxima, E. stiedae, E. ovinoidalis, E. adenoeides, E. meleagrimitis, E. praecoc, E. mitis, E. bovis, E. zuernii, Isospora suis) in birds, rabbits, calves, piglets, lambs. It acts on the second generation of schizons.
TARGET SPECIES:
Birds, rabbits, calves, piglets, lambs.
INDICATIONS:
Coccidiosis, especially in birds and rabbits. Treatment of infectious diseases caused by sulfadimidine-sensitive germs. Maintenance treatment following the administration of sulfadimidine injections.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Kidney, liver, blood and polyneuritis diseases.
SIDE EFFECTS:
There are no known side effects.
INTERACTIONS:
Do not administer procaine anesthetics and combinations of drugs such as procaine-penicillin, methenamine (hexamethylene tetramine) or high doses of vitamin B at the same time with sulfur and its compounds, so as not to diminish the effect of the drug.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Do not discontinue treatment even if relief occurs after the first dose. Use a fresh solution every day!
DOSE:
Dissolve 1 sachet in 10 l of drinking water and administer it immediately for 3 days for watering. If necessary, repeat this 3-day treatment after a 3-day break. Preventive administration in rabbits is recommended from 5-10 weeks of age.
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:
Oral, in drinking water.
WAITING TIME:
Meat – 15 days.
Do not use in laying hens whose eggs are intended for human consumption.
VALIDITY:
36 months from the date of manufacture.
PRESERVATION:
Store in a dry space, at temperatures of 0-25°C, away from light. Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
