For the treatment of mixed roundworm and wideworm infestations in cats.

Composition:

Each tablet contains

Active substances: Pirantel embonate (pamoat) 230.0 mg, Praziquantel 20.0 mg;

Excipients:

Corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose , polyvinyl pyrrolidone, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silicon, hydroxy-propyl methylcellulose, polyethylene glycol 4000, titanium dioxide.

Indications:

For the treatment of mixed roundworm and wideworm infestations in cats caused by:

Adult stages of ascarids: Toxocara cati (syn. mystax);

Adult stages of hookworms: Ancylostoma tubaeforme, Ancylostoma braziliense.

Tapeworms (broadworms): Echinococcus multilocularis, Dipylidium caninum, Hydatigera (Taenia) taeniaeformis, Mesocestoides spp., Joyeuxiella spp

As tapeworm infestation in cats occurs very quickly, in the third week of life, treatment with Drontal is not indicated until after three weeks of age.

Contraindications

Do not use in kittens less than 6 weeks old.

Drontal Cat should not be used during pregnancy.

Do not use simultaneously with piperazine-containing compounds.

Adverse reactions

If you notice any serious reactions or other effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.

Target species

Cats.

Dosage for each species, route(s) of administration and method of administration

5 mg/kg praziquantel and 57.5 mg/kg pyrantel embonate per kilogram body weight

It is equivalent to one Drontal Cat tablet per 4 kg of body weight.

For examples see the table below:

1.0 - 2.0 kg : 1/2

2.1 - 4.0 kg: 1

4.1 - 6.0 kg: 1 1/2

6.1 – 8.0 kg: 2

8.1 - 10 kg: 2 1/2

Duration of treatment

For single use only.

Advice on correct administration

The tablets are taken directly or incorporated into meat or sausages. No dietary measures are required. The tablets are marked in halves.

Do not remove the tablets from the blister until it is necessary for use. Any partially used tablet should be discarded.

Withdrawal time

This is not the case.

Special precautions for storage

Keep out of reach and sight of children.

This veterinary medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions.

Do not use after the expiry date which is stated on the carton {EXP}.

Shelf life after first opening the immediate packaging: Any partially used tablet should be discarded.

Special warnings

Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals

For good hygiene, people who administer the tablet directly to the cat or incorporate it into their diet should wash their hands afterwards.

Use during pregnancy, lactation

Drontal Cat should not be used during pregnancy (see Contraindications). It can be used during lactation.

Overdose (symptoms, emergency procedures, antidotes), as appropriate.

Symptoms of overdose do not occur at doses 5 times the recommended dose.

The first signs of poisoning are vomiting.

Special precautions for disposal of unused product or waste materials, if any

Medicines should not be disposed of in wastewater or household waste.

Ask your veterinarian for information on how to dispose of medicines no longer needed. These measures contribute to environmental protection.
