CESTAL CAT dewormer 8 Tablets // Praziquantel + Pyrantel // antiparasitario gatti

Cestal chewable tablets for cats are for the treatment of hookworm and roundworm infections caused by Ascaris, Strongyloides and tapeworms.

DECLARATION OF ACTIVE SUBSTANCES AND OTHER INGREDIENTS

Praziquantel: 20.0 mg

Pyrantel: 80 MG (equivalent to 230 mg pyrantel embonate)

INDICATION (I)

It is recommended for the treatment of roundworm infestations in cats, caused by the following parasites:

* roundworms: Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina (adults and immature forms)

* strongili: Ancylostoma tubaeforme

* Tapeworms: Echinococcus multilocularis, Hydatigena (Taenia) taeniaeformis, Dipylidium caninum (adults and immature forms), Joyeuxiella spp.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.

Do not use in cats less than 6 weeks of age.

Do not use with piperazine compounds.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

In very rare cases (less than 1 animal in 10,000 animals, including isolated case reports) mild and transient digestive tract disorders such as hypersalivation and/or vomiting and mild and transient neurological disorders such as ataxia may occur.  

If you notice any adverse reactions, even those not already included in this leaflet or you think that the medicine has not had any effect, please inform your veterinarian.  

ROUTE(S) OF ADMINISTRATION AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION

The recommended dose is 1 tablet / 4 kg body weight - equivalent to 20.0 mg of pyrantel (57.5 mg / kg of pyrantel embonate) and 5 mg / kg of praziquantel.

RECOMMENDATIONS ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION 

Single oral administration. The chewable tablet should be administered directly to the animal, but if necessary it can be mixed with food.

In roundworm infections, especially in young animals, there may not be complete clearance and a risk to humans remains. 

In a study of 30 cats, voluntary consumption occurred in 83% of cases.

No restriction of access to food is necessary either before or after administration of the product. To ensure the correct dosage is administered, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible. Veterinary advice should be sought as to the need and frequency of repeat treatment.

Praziquantel: 20,0 mg

REAZIONI AVVERSE

In casi molto rari (meno di 1 animale su 10.000 animali, comprese le segnalazioni di casi isolati) possono verificarsi disturbi lievi e transitori del tratto digerente, come ipersalivazione e/o vomito, e disturbi neurologici lievi e transitori, come l'atassia.  

Se si notano reazioni avverse, anche se non già descritte in questo foglio illustrativo o si ritiene che il medicinale non abbia avuto alcun effetto, si prega di informare il veterinario.

La dose raccomandata è di 1 compressa/4 kg di peso corporeo, equivalente a 20,0 mg di pirantel (57,5 mg/kg di pirantel embonato) e 5 mg/kg di praziquantel.

RACCOMANDAZIONI PER UNA CORRETTA SOMMINISTRAZIONE 

Somministrazione orale singola. La compressa masticabile deve essere somministrata direttamente all'animale, ma se necessario può essere mescolata al cibo.

Nelle infestazioni da ascaridi, soprattutto negli animali giovani, potrebbe non esserci una completa guarigione e permane un rischio per gli esseri umani. 

In uno studio condotto su 30 gatti, il consumo volontario si è verificato nell'83% dei casi.

Non è necessaria alcuna restrizione all'accesso al cibo, né prima né dopo la somministrazione del prodotto. Per garantire la somministrazione della dose corretta, il peso corporeo deve essere determinato nel modo più accurato possibile. Si consiglia di consultare un veterinario per quanto riguarda la necessità e la frequenza del trattamento ripetuto.
