Special warnings
During the entire treatment, the animals must drink only the medicated water. Due to the variability (time, geographical) in terms of susceptibility of bacteria when using the product, it is recommended to collect bacteriological samples and carry out susceptibility tests for microorganisms isolated from sick animals. If this is not possible, treatment should be based on local epidemiological information (region, farm) regarding the sensitivity of the target bacteria. Use of the product outside of the instructions may increase the prevalence of resistance to the active substance and may result in decreased treatment efficacy due to the potential for cross-resistance. Official and local policies regarding antimicrobial products will be considered when using the product.
People with known hypersensitivity to tilmicosin or to the product's excipients should avoid contact with the product. When handling the product, it is recommended to wear gloves, protective glasses and protective masks. Wash your hands after handling the product. Wash with soap and water the areas of the skin that have come into contact with the product. Avoid contact with eyes. If the product accidentally comes into contact with the eyes, wash with plenty of water. In case of accidental ingestion of the product or if symptoms characterized by skin itching or skin irritation occur, contact the doctor immediately and show him the product leaflet or the label. Serious manifestations, such as: swelling of the face, lips or eyelids accompanied by breathing difficulties, require emergency medical assistance.
At the recommended doses, no teratogenic, embryotoxic or maternotoxic effects have been observed in laboratory animal studies.
Cross-resistance with other macrolides and lincomycin may occur. In pigs, in case of overdose (1.5 or 2 times the recommended doses), a low consumption of medicated water can be recorded and, due to this aspect, dehydration can sometimes occur. In this case, the administration of the medicated water is interrupted, the doses are corrected or non-medicated water is administered. Refusal to drink water following overdose was not observed in chickens. In case of overdose, the consistency of the feces is reduced.
In the absence of compatibility studies, this veterinary medicinal product must not be mixed with other veterinary medicinal products.
