ROMBENDAZOL PLUS Oral Suspension 1 L - Antihelmintic with wide spectrum to combat parasitosis in cattle and sheep.

COMPOSITION

Active substances: Albendazole 2.5 g, Levamisol 1.5 g;
Excipients (2% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, polysorbate 80, benzoic acid, distilled water) per 100 ml.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Albendazole is a benzimidazole carbamate with negative effects on protozoa and anthelmintic against parasites with intestinal, pulmonary and tissue localization.
It is active against trematodes, cestodes and nematodes in all their forms of evolution, eg eggs, larvae, adults.
Toxicity is reduced, the maximum tolerated doses being 5 times higher than the therapeutic ones.
It is active against benzimidazole-resistant species of the genus Haemonchus and Trichostrongylus.
Albendazole acts on larvae, eggs, and adult forms of gastrointestinal and pulmonary helminths, as well as on migratory or restricted parasites, probably by inhibiting tubulin polymerization.
This leads to discontinuation of helminth metabolism, with the depletion of energy resources, which closes and then destroys the parasite; Levamisol acts on gatrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes in cattle and sheep by blocking succinate dehydrogenase activity, causing the nematode paralysis and decomposition and their elimination by feces and coughs, respectively.
It also has a non-specific immunostimulatory effect.
Levamisol is active against benzimidazole-resistant species of fam. Trichostrongylidae, and the combination of the two substances increases the spectrum of activity of Rombendazol Plus;
TARGET SPECIES: Cattle, sheep.
