PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC ACTION
Ivermectin is an antiparasitic substance in the class of macrocyclic lactones, isolated from the product obtained by fermentation of an actinomycete called Streptomyces avermitilis. IVER-MITE OTIC solution contains as active substance ivermectin, antiparasitic substance with scabicidal effect that acts by increasing the permeability of the cell membrane to chlorine ions with hyperpolarization of nerve or muscle cells, causing paralysis and death of the parasite; it also causes the secretion of gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) at the nerve synapses of the parasite, thus leading to the interruption of the nerve impulse.

TARGET SPECIES
Dogs and cats.
INDICATIONS
In the control and treatment of scabies.
DOSAGE, ROUTE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Clean the animal's ear with a cerumenolytic solution - Otto Cleans. Instill 2-3 drops of product and gently massage the base of the ear, thus favoring direct drug-ectoparasite contact. After a few minutes, remove the excess product by lightly dabbing with hydrophilic cotton wool. 4 treatments are administered every 3 days or on the recommendation of the veterinarian.
CONTRAINDICATIONS, PRECAUTIONS AND ADVERSE REACTIONS
It is not used in the treatment of parasitosis in hypersensitive animals. Ivermectin should not be given to chickens under 2 months of age, convalescent or weakened animals. It is not used in the Collie breed and its crossbreeds (due to side effects with toxic potential), the breed being very sensitive.
Do not administer in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. It can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Although generally well tolerated, ivermectin can cause unpleasant side effects if the dose is very high. Symptoms of overdose or toxicity of the drug include: tremors, unsafe gait, obstruction, temporary blindness, dilated pupils, disorientation, weakness, lack of appetite, vomiting, profuse salivation, shortness of breath or rapid breathing, and usually occur 12 hours after administration .
WAITING TIME
